Let The Sea Resound, And All That Is In It

The Bridegroom’s doors are opened wide

And I am next of kin;

The guests are met, the feast is set:

May’st hear the merry din.’

For this collection Serapis have developed and utilised machine learning software and generative coding in order to visually represent a series of dream notes of a mariner signing as S.G.,
found in the old archives of a now defunct vessel.

Both the newly introduced silhouettes in womenswear and menswear, as well as the extensively developed fabrics in knitwear, jacquard and print techniques aim to bring to life several aspects of the dreamy sequences in these found notes and poems.

The text and image generative neural networks used for the visualisation have resulted in a series of abstract colourful seascapes and images oscillating between states of heaven and hell, peaceful dreams and nightmares as variations of the long stable view of the ocean and the horizon from the ship, ending, just like the dream notes in a mirage of calm.
