‘Piraeus Golden Hour’ is the title of SERAPIS’ collection for SS25.
It is an attempt to capture a moment, a specific window in time and space, at Greece’s largest harbour.
Using an expanded filmmaking logic, the collection grasps at fragments of the dreamy atmosphere — the liquidity and textures of a particular evening at the port during golden hour. Images captured through an analog PVC filter adorn various pieces across the collection, from silk dresses and shirts to evolved denim and swimwear offerings. These images, elsewhere abstract or representational, grasp the colors and the materiality of the different elements, objects (buoys, trucks, nets and knives used by the local fishermen) and infrastructure of this port, which has been a recurring subject matter and theme in SERAPIS’ output over the years.
Innovating with new techniques and processes, the collection incorporates portside textures like tar, natural salt, and sun-dying treatments, alongside distressed details that evoke the arduous labour of the area’s locals.
