Rites of Care focuses on different rituals of production within the SERAPIS universe.
It fragmentedly and abstractly tells the stories of Magos, of Yiota, of Sain and Dimitris, of producers, sailors and close collaborators on the SERAPIS output, through a focus on details from processes of making.
Magos (the magician) is an alchemist, a sailor and a jewelry and hardware maker that we have been collaborating closely with in the past years to make the SERAPIS jewelry and custom hardware for our ready to wear pieces. Images from the lab of Magos are featured in different prints of the collection such as the Magos silk shirt, Magos parka jacket, mesh top, jeans and more. The Yiota pattern featured across our knitwear and prints highlights a poetic detail from a crackled sticker outside the building of Yiota’s production facility, where SERAPIS produces a big part of its ready to wear pieces. The drawing featured on the jersey program of the collection is derived from a doodle of Sain, another one of our producers. The silver print on the Silver Drill dress and mesh top features a detail from the making of our candleholders in collaboration with UNPRT, while the text print on the back of the collection’s hoodies, the Berth Blur and Nightview prints are taken from processes on board vessels from the SERAPIS oceanic voyage archive.
